Richmond School Board requests more money
RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The Richmond School Board is requesting more money from the City to fund the school system.
In a 7-1 vote, the board approved a $147 million budget request to Mayor Dwight Jones.
According to the Times-Dispatch, the board is requesting an extra $23 million to help fill the current budget hole.
The mayor will propose a city budget to the city council on March 6.
