Freezing snow has made black ice in some areas | News

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - This morning you'll want to take it easy when taking the kids to school and going to work.

You could run into some icy spots when you hit the road.

The snow that melted froze overnight — making black ice on the road.

If you're driving too fast and you drive over it, you could spin and end up hitting something or someone else.

VDOT sent its salt and sand trucks out to treat the icy spots.

We had hundreds of accidents Monday with the melting snow. Take it easy on overpasses, bridges and exit ramps.

You'll also want to be careful when you're walking because sidewalks could also be slippery.
